Der Blitz lässt sich in allen bekannten Modi wie TTL, manuell und Stroboskop bzw. Multi einsetzen. Zusätzlich kann der V860II auch über Godox X1T-C Sender ausgelöst werden, da bereits ein entsprechender Empfänger im Blitz verbaut ist.
Neben der HSS Funktion bietet der V860II auch Flash Exposure Compensation, die dazu dient, die Blitzmenge einzustellen. So können Sie das Blitzlicht unabhängig von der eigentlichen Belichtung von der Kamera aus steuern. Um eine Blitzbelichtungsreihe vorzunehmen, benutzt man die FEB-Funktion (Flash Exposure Bracketing). Damit können Sie schnell die optimale Blitzbelichtung für ein Motiv finden, ohne viele Einstellungen vornehmen zu müssen.
