Die Gefahr bei Turbulenzen auf einem Flug ist bei Kleinkindern besonders hoch weil die Sitze und Gurte für Erwachsene konzipiert wurden. Deshalb wurde CARES entwickelt! Das Gurtsystem eignet sich für Kinder zwischen 10kg und 20kg, welche 100cm oder kleiner sind. Das System wird von den meisten Fluggesellschaften (Swiss, Edelweiss, EasyJet etc. Stand Dezember 2020) akzeptiert und gefördert. CARES wird meist an einem Fensterplatz montiert, nicht in der Nähe von Notausgängen. Kleinkinder sitzen darin sehr bequem während der ganzen Reise. Babys müssen bei Start und Landung auf den Schoss eines Erwachsenen. Kinder bis 2 Jahren dürfen oft gratis Fliegen auf dem Schoss der Eltern. Man kann ihnen aber trotzdem einen Sitzplatz kaufen zu meist reduziertem Preis wenn man will. Grössere Kinder haben müssen eh einen eigenen Sitzplatz haben.
