Während der Vorgänger noch 110 Gramm auf die Waage brachte, zeigt sich Flir One in der neuen Generation mit 32 Gramm außerdem äußerst leicht. Die Maße konnten von 140 mm x 61 mm x 22 mm auf 72 mm × 26 mm × 18 mm reduziert werden.
Den optischen Einblick in die Welt der Temperaturen ermöglicht Flir One mit einer VGA- und einer Wärmebild-Kamera. Eine Kombination aus diesen beiden Bildquellen kann dann in verschiedenen Formen dargestellt werden. Der Erfassungsbereich der Infrarotkamera ist dabei auf minus 20 bis 120 Grad beschränkt. Über die entsprechende App können neben Fotos in verschiedenen Formaten auch Videos und Time-Lapse-Aufnahmen angefertigt werden.
