Mit der THETA Z1 wird die Video-aufnahmequalität im Gegensatz zu den Vorgängermodellen deutlich gesteigert. Mit einer 4K-Auflösung (3.840 x 1.920 Pixel, 56 Mbps und 30 B/Sek.) gelingen fantastische und realitätsnahe 360°-Vollsphärenaufnahmen. Zusätzlich zum standardmässigen JPEG-Format können die Fotos jetzt auch als RAW-Dateien aufgenommen werden, sodass eine professionelle Bildbearbeitung ermöglicht wird. In Verbindung mit einem Computer besteht die Möglichkeit der 360° Liveübertragung in 4K (3.840 x 1.920 Pixel). Diese wird mit der Bildansicht synchronisiert und der Aufnahmerichtung zugeordnet. Dies ermöglicht einen Raumton, der aus der gleichen Richtung kommt, wie der aktuell angezeigte Bildauschnitt. Durch einen Qualcomm “Snapdragon” Prozessor verbessert sich in der THETA Z1 die Übertragungsgeschwindigkeit für Bilder und Videos.
