Die α7R II von Sony ist die weltweit erste Kamera mit rückwärtig belichtetem CMOS 35 mm-Vollformatsensor mit 42,4 Megapixeln und verleiht der Bildauflösung, Empfindlichkeit (bis zu ISO1024003) und schnellen Reaktion eine vollkommen neue Dimension. Mit der besonders dichten und breiten Abdeckung der Phasendetektion des schnellen Hybrid-AF-Systems im AF-Bereich wird das Motiv im gesamten Bildbereich scharf fokussiert, wobei die 5-Achsen-Bildstabilisierung Unschärfen reduziert, die bei handgeführten Aufnahmen normalerweise entstehen. Die hohe Auflösung wird ausserdem durch die 4K Videoaufnahme mit voller Pixelauslesung ohne Pixel-Binning weiter optimiert. Bei so viel Leistung in einem kompakten Design kann das blosse Auge nicht mithalten.
