Die Standbohrmaschine /Tischbohrmaschine PBD 40 ist dank der technischen Ausstattung besonders präzise und sehr einfach zu bedienen: Ein 710 Watt starker Universalmotor ersetzt den klassischen Riemenantrieb, wie man ihn von herkömmlichen Tischbohrern kennt. So lässt sich die Drehzahl stufenlos per Drehknopf regulieren. Das lästige Umspannen des Riemens entfällt. Die PBD 40 verfügt zudem über zwei Gänge und eine Constant-Electronic, die beim Bohren in harte Materialien ein Abfallen der Geschwindigkeit verhindert.
