Although the "Laser 6250 Bushing extraction tool" (cost CHF 400+) or the "Stahlmaxx 103336" (cost CHF 400+ too) or the "Paschke Profitec 33 239 200" (EUR 349 and which is from the same manufacturer as the VW Official VAS 6779) are able to extract the bushings fine, using this VW official tool really guarantees a proper "VW dealer-like" removal and installation of the engine mount bushing and top quality of the elements.
Over CHF 400 savings: VW/Audi dealers in Switzerland would charge over CHF 500 to replace these 2 bushings (according to chatgpt) that cost less than CHF 30 to buy online (for the two bushings) and would take you c. 1h work with the same tool as rented here. Doing it youself would save you over CHF 400 and save you hours of going to dealer and waiting for items to be replaced.
To ensure proper operation and reduce risk of breaking the lead screw (EUR 80 replacement cost if damaged/broken) please make sure to use:
- the supplied Molybdenum grease on the screw before use
